Because the DTY Racquetball Committee is proud of our racquetball players we have developed the following pages to spotlight individual players. Some have won a tournament division and/or have contributed to the DTY racquetball program goals. And some are just regular people who just like to play racquetball.
The DTY Player of the Month for June 2002 is Mike Bennett.
Mike has been a member of the DTY since 1975 (except for 2 years when he lived in California). He started playing racquetball in 1980 under the watchful eye of Alice (his "wife to be"). He usually plays a few evenings a week (loves the Challenge Court) and can usually be found playing doubles with the Sunday morning crew (play starts at 10:00AM).
Congratulations to Mike for winning 1st place in the USRA Nationals in the Men's 55 C/D event!
Mike is originally from Oklahoma, graduated from the US Naval Academy (Annapolis MD) in 1967. He served 8 years in our nuclear submarine Navy. He's now working as an independent computer programmer on a contract for Chevron Phillips Chemical Company in Kingwood (TX).
He and Alice have been married a long time (any length of time with Mike seems like forever). They have 3 great children, Michelle, Stephen and Jonathan and 5 grand children (who love to listen to him talk about the old days).

The DTY Player of the Month for May 2002 is Jeff Courtright.
Jeff has been a member of the DTY since 1997 and normally plays at noon. He's the sponsor and force behind the Noon League at the DTY and is an active member of the DTY Racquetball Committee. On top of all that - he's also a nice guy and a good player.
Congratulations to Jeff for winning 1st place in the USRA Nationals in the Men's 35 C/D event!
Jeff is married (Sandra) and has two boys (Collin - 9, Kevin - 7).
