The majority of tournament players that stay at the Hyatt Regency should not need to find a parking spot. The Hyatt Regency is only a short three (3)-block walk from the DTY. The Crowne Plaza is around the corner from the DTY. These hotels do charge for parking.
Other tournament players that need to find a parking spot are advised that the surface lots and parking structures near the DTY are not free. The closer to the DTY, the higher the parking cost per day. The lots and parking structures may also charge a separate fee for evening parking. You do NOT want your vehicle towed! If you use a parking lot, please remember to put the correct amount of money in the collection box. Make sure you put the money in the correct slot for the parking slot you park in. Also remember to use the poker to make sure that the money goes all the way into the slot in the collection box. If someone can get to the money in the collection box - they will - then your vehicle will probably be towed for non-payment of the parking fee. The parking garages collect their fee when you leave. If you leave during the day and return you will have to pay another fee. The link does NOT indicate cost per day for parking in each lot or structure.
The closest street level parking lots are located between
There is metered parking under the Pierce Elevated. These lots are located along Pierce and run several blocks. The meters accept only quarters and the cost is one (1) quarter for each hour up to ten (10) hours. If you are only going to stay for less than a full day this may be the most convenient place to park. It also means a slightly longer walk to the DTY, but that's life...
Street parking may be available. Please observe all street parking signs. Some streets allow parking only at certain times of the day. These are mainly one-way streets that allow parking during the morning (out-of-downtown streets) or the afternoon (in-to-downtown streets) only. The parking meters do NOT normally have to be fed after 6:00 PM Monday through Saturday. No fee is required on Sunday. There is probably no fee for a holiday. Please check the meter and/or sign for parking meter information.
